If you are looking for something to pep up your website, you might try visiting these sites.  The Free Site is a portal, from which you can access all kinds of things which are free, or nearly so.  Look here for free graphics and free sounds, for example.  Flaming Text has an online headling generator which lets users design an appropriate heading for their websites. 

Be aware that any site which requires you to take out a membership and provide your e-mail address is likely to also support itself by selling advertising (spam).  Nothing is ever really free.  To minimize annoyance I use a mailing address which I don't use for any other purpose.
As you prowl and play you may want to consider the old saying "less is more" and avoide using every possible effect you can find.  Classic design is usually simple design.
